Exports from Indonesia to China shot up in 2010

The Indonesian Textile Association (API) has reported huge increases in exports to China during 2010, reaching $11.2 billion in value.

API chairman, Ade Sudrajat, has told local media that textile sector exports to China increased by 70% last year compared to 2009. Shipments of yarns and fibres were both 65% higher. The association said that per capita textile consumption in China has increased from 12 kilos to 18 kilos per year.
