Swedish sportswear brand Peak Performance has released a new app designed to help iPhone users stay informed and safe while on the mountain.

The app is free to download and contains trail maps of hundreds of ski resorts worldwide, weather reports and an SOS button in case of emergency.

According to a statement from Peak Performance, the app provides a dashboard for the ski areas of the user’s choice, including real-time weather forecasts, information on snow conditions, lifts, slopes, webcams of ski resorts and twitter feeds.

The application was developed by In The Pocket, a Belgian mobile agency.
