DyStar opens white lab in Thailand
Colourants and auxiliaries provider DyStar recently opened a global application and development laboratory, DyStar Technical Centre OBA, located within the DyStar Thai Ltd facilities, in Samutprakarn, Thailand.
Inaugurating the occasion were Dr A Schrell, global director auxiliaries, and Mr Th Bremer, director auxiliaries Asia. The centre is unique in the DyStar organisation in that it has a separate laboratory that dedicated to focussing on white applications and evaluations.
“White is the most dominant single ‘colour’ for textiles. In order to serve and support our customers and retailers who are in this important segment, the centre will specialise in textile whiteners and optical whitening,” said Dr Schrell.
The centre for Sera White provides in-depth technical expertise for discontinuous, semi-continuous and continuous applications, together with analytical methods for whiteness evaluations. With the new Sera White range, DyStar claims to offer “state-of-the-art optical whiteners for all major fibres and application methods”.
The centre is also the contact point and solution centre for customers and retailers who are in search of white and whitener applications.
“The demands in the fashion industry are continually changing. In order to react with speed to the changing market trends and needs, we need to be nearer to our customers and retailers. We have built the centre in Thailand because it is in close proximity to important textile producing countries and other DyStar technical centres,” added Bart van Kuijk, CMO of DyStar Group.
