Helly Hansen launches new styles for summer sailing

18/03/2011
Norwegian outdoor brand Helly Hansen has launched a new sailing technical apparel collection called Hydro Power. The collection consists of jackets, tops, smocks, insulators, bibs, pants and casual wear and is, according to the company, "athletic and functional for performance on water, and stylish enough to wear at work, home or play".

For wet days the Hydro Power Bay Jacket is a "progressive sailing-inspired" garment constructed with proprietary Helly Tech two-layer waterproof breathable fabric and featuring a Polartec fleece collar, a polyurethane inner cuff that keeps water from creeping inside the sleeves, and a one-hand adjustable hem.

The Hydro Power Pant is a "high-activity sailing pant" that complements the Bay Jacket with complete water protection from the waist down.

Suitable for extra wet environments, the Hydro Power Dry Top features a waterproof rubber neck and cuffs that keep water from getting in. The body is constructed with Helly Tech O2, promising the highest waterproof breathability rating in the Helly Hansen line. The top is designed for professional racers who want unrestricted movement and maximum protection, the company said on announcing the collection.
