Equmen claims its shirts improve posture

Specialist underwear brand Equmen has said it believes its compression undershirts can improve wearers' posture and help backpain sufferers.

"There is more that can be done to prevent the onset of back related issues caused through poor posture," Equmen has said in a statement. "Having a healthy posture is a type of physical fitness where the muscle groups in the back support the skeleton in a position that is both stable and effective while moving. Regrettably, there are various reasons experienced in everyday life which could impede a positive healthy posture."

It said its clothing is designed specifically to combat these problems. It quoted a Dutch customer, Hans Eijsink, as saying: “Two years ago I had to undergo an operation to fix a slipped disc in my back. Ever since, I've suffered from occasional bouts of backpain which could pretty much ruin the day for me. That is, until I discovered Equmen. I bought my first regular compression shirt, and after having worn it for a couple of hours could feel the relief and support it provided for my back muscles. I decided straight away to buy more Equmen shirts, and am now a regular wearer of the grey high compression shirts which benefit me even more."

Mr Eijsink went on to say he can see an improvement in his posture, that the Equmen shirts reduce his waistline by a couple of centimetres, and that he looks trim and feels great.

The compression T-shirts gently force the back and shoulders into their natural position while at the same time providing support where it is needed most, the Australian company explained.
