31/03/2011
The president of apparel industry technology provider Gerber Technology, John Hancock, is to leave the company on April 30. Marc Giles, president and chief executive of parent company Gerber Scientific, will assume leadership responsibilities for the Gerber Technology business segment.

Gregg Williams has joined the company in the newly created position of vice-president of marketing, product management and service.

“We thank John for his many contributions to Gerber Technology and the key role he played in driving GT’s growth strategy over the past few years. We wish him well in his new endeavours,” said Mr Giles on making the announcement. “We continue to make progress in our overall business model transformation and our growth plans for GT are a critical component of that strategy. This flattening of our organisational structure while increasing our sales and marketing bench strength will allow us to be more nimble and responsive to market opportunities in the apparel and industrial segment.”

Gerber Technology has also announced that its chairman, James Arthurs, a 31-year veteran of the company best known for leading its foray into international apparel markets, will retire at the end of this year.
