Jeff Banks is still enthusiastic about workwear

The Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show 2011 in Coventry ended on April 6, with the organisers saying the leading industry figures, buyers and sellers in attendance had witnessed the very latest innovations in design, and had heard the future is strong for the sector.

Prominent Welsh fashion designer Jeff Banks, whose interest in workwear led him to found his own corporate clothing company, Incorporatewear, in 1996, was one of the attendees. He commented at the end of the event: “The state of the industry is good. There is a lot of nonsense about China having an unfair advantage because of cheaper materials but you have to get out there and compete. We operate and compete on a world stage so you have to get off your backside and get out there.”

More than 50 exhibitors showcased products ranging from uniforms for airlines from Staffwear, to industrial footwear from Magnum, and a series of innovations in protective clothing.
