The Dutch company has developed developed a range of aqueous products for various performance textile applications. The range of products, collectively called Edolan, make it possible for fabric manufacturers to apply a coating with moisture vapour transportation characteristics to their product lines. Tanatex believes these products will work well in waterproof breathable fabric applications, especially for outdoor, sports and protective apparel.
Another Tanatex innovation is Actipro, a probiotic concept that aims to treat “bad bacteria” and fungi from textiles while presenting no harm to good bacteria. Textiles treated with Actipro can help reduce bad smells and the effects of allergy in textiles, without harming the wearer of any apparel made from the treated fabrics.
Specifically for technical textiles, Tanatex has also developed Baygard, a fluorocarbon resin based on C6 chemistry. It can help make polyester and acrylic fabrics water- and oil-repellent.
