New ultra-lightweight trekking pole from Easton

New for Spring 2011, Easton Mountain Products has launched what it calls “the ultimate backcountry trekking pole”. Weighing around 500 grammes, the CTR-65 ion Backcountry Trekking Pole is an all-carbon construction with two-tier adjustability for the back-country user looking for durability, versatility and weight-saving.

It features an EVA grip with extended gripping area and adjustable strap for comfort and responsiveness. Users can set the perfect length with a patent-pending clamp and adjust it on the fly to match changing terrain.

“This is the backcountry pole is for the most weight-conscious trekkers looking to maintain all the technical features they’ve come to expect from Easton,” said the company’s marketing co-ordinator, Rich Packer, at the launch. “The CTR-65 ion Backcountry Trekking Pole provides maximum stability and control to travel with confidence in any terrain.”
