Teva works with Jeff Lenosky to create new bike shoe

Designed in collaboration with professional mountain biker Jeff Lenosky, the new shoe, called the Links, is a purpose-built freeride shoe that Teva says is “loaded with technical features”.
Joel Heath, Teva’s global marketing director, said on making the announcement: “Teva has been supporting freeride mountain biking over the last five years with its sponsorship of one of the top ten freeride events in the world at its annual Teva Mountain games. Jeff was the Teva Mountain Games’ guide in introducing freeride mountain biking to the event in its early years, so this product introduction and collaboration is an organic evolution for the brand.”
He said the Links will have “the outstanding traction with uncompromising water management technologies that made
Teva famous”.
The Links features a sole specifically designed to interface with the platform of a bike pedal, made from the brand’s proprietary Spider365 sticky rubber. An “aggressive” tread pattern on the toe and heel provide high levels of traction off the bike. The shoe also has flexible armour in key wear areas and uses ion-mask nanocoating technology from P2i, making the shoe entirely waterproof and easy to rinse clean after a day’s riding.
“I worked with Teva’s product team for over a year to build this shoe,” said Jeff Lenosky. “We didn’t compromise on any aspect of the design, using the very best materials, style and technology available. I’ve been wearing them and riding in them for a few months and I’m really proud of the finished product.”
