Slovenian synthetic fibres manufacturer Julon, owned by Italian producer Aquafil, has launched a high-tech investment project worth EUR 17 million, of which EUR 3.6m was contributed by the Slovenian government. Economy minister, Darja Radic, has said that the project will bring technological development and high-quality jobs.

The project, called Econyl, came from an original Aquafil idea and involves recycling waste into a compound called caprolactam, the basis for the manufacturing of polyamide 6. It is expected to create 45 skilled jobs.
