Timberland open new store because New Yorkers love adventure

The company said it wanted to build on the success of its existing store on Broadway, which opened in 2009. Its vice-president for retail and e-commerce, John Pazzani the days leading up to the opening of the new store: “New York is filled with people who love the outdoors and the lifestyle it embodies, whether they’re in the city or on a weekend getaway. At the new Herald Square location, they’ll be able to find all the Timberland gear they need to explore, wherever their adventures take them.”
The new retail space reflects Timberland’s commitment to sustainability, the company said, through the use of recycled materials and “other eco-conscious building practices”. Features include reclaimed wood and industrial machinery (used for table bases), recycled stoneware floor tiles, reduced energy lighting and water-conserving plumbing fixtures. The space also features a custom-painted mural celebrating green spaces throughout New York City.
