Cordura used in extreme motorcycle apparel
Fibre and polymer producer Invista has announced the adoption of its Cordura fabric in a new apparel line by US-based technical motorcycling apparel brand Klim. Cordura fabrics have been used throughout the collection’s pants specially designed for ‘enduro’ motorcycle riders (enduro is a form of off-road biking).
“We needed a fabric that would withstand the challenges of the outdoor elements and the demands and rigors of extreme riders,” said Klim director of marketing, John Summers. “Renowned for its durability and abrasion resistance, we knew Cordura fabric was the right choice because it provides durable protection and mobility allowing riders to perform at their best.”
This effort between the Klim and Cordura brand teams provides riders with an apparel system designed with a wide variety of functional capabilities, Invista claims. Maximum durability and abrasion resistance, exceptional moisture management performance, and enhanced comfort and breathability.
“Being included in these designs with such leaders in the motorcycling industry is certainly an honour,” said Allen Mortimer, global product manager for Invista’s Cordura brand. “I’m enthusiastic because I anticipate riders will appreciate the product’s strong performance features.”
