The Asia Bike and Asia Outdoor exhibitions will be co-located this year, sharing the Nanjing Nantex International Exhibition Centre in China from July 27–30.

“Visitors to the outdoor trade fair are potential bike users and retailers, since outdoor retailers are increasingly including mountain bikes in the outdoor goods segment,” explains trade fair coordinator Knut Jaeger.

According to the organisers this concept has been greeted enthusiastically by exhibitors and attendees. Asia Outdoor will feature 20% more exhibitors and nearly 25% more exhibition space this year compared to 2010. “Based on the advance registrations, we’re forecasting 18,000 trade visitors from every province in China, as well as an increase in visitors from abroad in 2011 at Asia Outdoor alone,” says Mr Jaeger.

The 420 brands slated to exhibit at the trade fair include names from outside China such as Sympatex, Bluesign, Dunlop, Osprey, Scarpa, Eagle Creek, Logos, and Toray. And Asian brands will also have a strong presence at the exhibition: Kailas has reserved 680 square metres of exhibition space for its own products and 220 square metres for its sales partner Vaude.

According to a survey by Nanjing University, the outdoor market in China will grow
by 25% in 2011.
