Schoeller to present printable energear

30/06/2011
Performance textile company Schoeller has announced that its energear fabrics, incorporating technology to reflect far infrared rays (FIRs) back to the body, will be available from summer 2011 onwards.

A print version (a paste for textile printing) of the energy-reflecting titanium-based mineral matrix will be on show at the Outdoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen to demonstrate to apparel brands that, even after production, applying energear to their shirts, shorts and underwear will be “incredibly simple”.

In the build-up to the event in Friedrichshafen (July 14–17), Schoeller said in a statement: “Qi, the two letters that spell vital energy, is the most important thing of all. The free flow of Qi has been
the focus of attention in eastern medicine for centuries and now many more people are discovering that their performance potential is more intensive when the balance and flow of energy are right. This is exactly where energear comes into play.”

Humans constantly radiate or emit energy, and energear ensures that the heat energy radiated by the body in the form of far infrared rays is reflected back by the fabric. This can increase circulation and oxygen levels in the blood. The additional energy can have various positive effects on the body, such as performance enhancement and the reduction of premature fatigue, as well as improved regeneration.

The first consumer products incorporating Schoeller energear fabrics include golf pants from Alberto and a lifestyle kacket from Bugatti.
