New technologies from Toyota Tsusho

18/07/2011
Japanese fabric manufacturer Toyota Tsusho is to use this summer’s industry exhibitions to introduce several new technologies. They went on show at OutDoor in Friedrichshafen in mid-July and will also be part of the company’s presence at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City (August 4–7).

The new technologies include Gelanots Dry Shell, a three-layer water fabric with what the manufacturer calls “super high breathability” and a lightweight wicking mesh backing with PFOA-free durable water resistance (DWR) functionality.

Gelanots Bio will also be on display, a fabric made of bio-based polyester with sugarcane as the source, together with bio-based polyurethane membrane that is made from castor beans, again
with PFOA-free DWR.

There will also be a collection of three-layer backings, including ultra lightweight woven stretch backings, circular knit high-gauge backings and tricot backings.
