German provider of antimicrobial hygiene protection Sanitized has announced Levi’s as a new customer. The deal covers the new Levi’s Commuter series, specially designed to meet the needs of urban cyclists.

Levi’s Commuter series is built around the 511 Skinny Jean and the classic Levi’s Trucker Jacket; it features fabric and construction upgrades that increase mobility and durability, while protecting cyclists from the potential hazards of their daily commute.

When commenting on the Commuter series, Erik Joule, senior vice-president of Levi’s men’s merchandising and design, said: “This product was born from innovation and classic American style – it’s about designing product for people who ride bikes, by people who ride bikes. We knew that our jeans were already being worn by urban cyclists. We listened to what they wanted and created a product with performance traits for biking that also functions as daily streetwear.”

The role of our Sanitized in both the denim and non-denim fabrics in this collection is to provide protection against odours, bringing long-lasting freshness and comfort. The denim fabrics benefit from the Sanitized T20-19 hygienic finish for textiles because it was designed to be compatible with other treatment technologies. The non-denim fabrics contain the Sanitized Silver hygienic protection for textiles which is based on silver salt (not metallic silver) which is scientifically recognised as having natural antimicrobial properties.
