Outwet chooses Dryarn for underwear

26/07/2011
Specialist Italian sports textiles manufacturer Outwet has put Aquafil’s polypropylene microfibre brand, Dryarn, into three underwear collections, Basic, Protego and Heartbeat.

The companies have said that using Dryarn in Outwet products will enhance their heat regulating and bacteriostatic capacities, as well as making them easy to care for. The fibre’s capacity to push perspiration rapidly towards the outside of the garment, leaving the skin dry, is an important advantage for practitioners of outdoor sports, whose bodies are subjected to considerable temperature changes.

Dryarn also has anti-allergenic properties, which means wearers of Outwet garments will not suffer from itching or irritation during exercise. Sensitive skin can be made even more sensitive under the stress of perspiration and intense physical effort, Aquafil has said. Dryarn is dyed at the yarn stage, so it does not release substances used in fabric dyeing and that can irritate the skin, sometimes causing allergic reactions.
