Specialist fabrics bring strong growth for TenCate

Textile technology company TenCate has reported revenue growth of 30% to EUR 592.4 million for the first half of 2011. Net profit rose by 69% to EUR 33.1 million.

The company said record sales of its Defender M protective fabrics (for military applications) and TenCate Tecasafe Plus (for industry workwear) had been a key contributor. It added that it was now seeing strong growth of interest in TenCate Defender M outside the US, the market where the fabrics first made an impact.
