Advansa sponsors Mongol Rally Race team
Advansa has announced its sponsorship of the team ‘Atillathenun’ which is driving 10,000 miles across a third of the earth in an ambulance. The Mongol Rally is one of the most exciting but dangerous races, and is run as a charity race.
The Advansa-sponsored team will be dressed with Advansa ThermoCool base layers, shirts and socks, which will equip them for the changing weather conditions.
The Mongol Rally is an annual event, starting in Europe and ending in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The first adventure set forth in 2004 with only six teams. The second rally, in 2005, attracted 43 teams, and 18 automobiles arrived in Ulaanbaatar.
This year’s Rally started in the UK on 23 July with more than 300 cars, and is in aid of charity organisations that support abandoned and orphaned children in Mongolia
Team ‘Atillathenun’ will drive an ambulance across mountains, deserts and grasslands, crossing Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East – crossing Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and finally Mongolia to the finish line Ulaanbaatar.
According to the rules made by the organisers, the teams have to drive an underpowered and non-suitable vehicle for this mission, which will take approximately five weeks to complete. All teams are expected to buy and maintain their own vehicles and find their way to the finish line.
The team must independently organise its vehicle, its maintenance and its choice of route, as well as sleeping bags and further items needed for daily use.
ThermoCool garments, seamless-wear supplied by UK sportswear specialist Comfizz, and multi-functional ThermoCool socks supplied by Brasher Boots, will suit the needs of the team members while driving the long distances, maintaining their body at a comfortable temperature.
“We are very happy to sponsor the team in this race, which is run in a charity purpose. The team is incredibly dedicated and the mission they undertake is really astonishing. We feel confident that the team will definitely appreciate their equipment of ThermoCool garments, which will give them enormous benefits and make them feel comfortable during the entire race,” said Jordi Lopez, brand manager at Advansa.
“We wish them all success and hope that they will cross the finish line sometime in the coming weeks!”
