Panache launches news sports bra
UK lingerie company Panache has launched a new sports bra under the ‘Panache Sports’ brand, which it claims stops a woman’s chest from bouncing.
After three years in development, the Panache Sports Bra, available in cups D to H, reduces bounce by 83%, according to Panache.
The bra was designed Clare Fallon at Panache and tested at Progressive Sports Technologies, based at Loughborough Sports Technology Institute. The firm used 3D motion and biomechanical tracking techniques to find out how well the bra worked in reducing bounce.
During research, a 32E model ran on a treadmill while being wired up to machines which calculated bounce reduction at 83% – compared to 65% for a normal sports bra.
Ms Fallon, who has worked at Panache for 18 years, said: “This was probably the hardest bra that I have ever had to design. There were so many elements to it and also the need to make sure it fitted well and was comfortable. The materials also had to be right. We wanted an underwire bra that didn’t dig into the skin, so we’ve come up with one that has silicon around it.”
A spokesman from Progressive Sports added: “We give the Panache Sports Bra a five star rating for larger cup sizes.”
