JD Sports plans to expand in France
UK sportswear retailer JD Sports has plans to open more than 100 new stores in France. The retailer already has 75 stores across France following its acquisition of Chausport in 2009 and expects to increase its presence to around 200 stores. The retailer currently trades from around 500 stores across its entire portfolio.
Nigel Keen, group property director at JD Sports, said: “We are targeting the main urban areas across France to build upon the successful opening of three trial stores in Lille, Paris and Lyons.”
