Germany: sportswear exports up 18% for first half

Germany’s sportswear exports have increased by 18% in the first half of 2011. The growth was supported by a strong performance in training clothing and swimwear for women.

 

The German knitting industry has also expressed satisfaction with foreign business in the first half. Compared to the same period last year, exports of knitwear have increased by 16% to nearly EUR 3.4 billion.

 

Knitted outerwear exports showed an increase of 17% and underwear had an increase of 15%.
