Brazil: PPE market worth $249 million in 2010

01/09/2011

A report from market research online database, companiesandmarkets.com, has said that the industrial protective clothing market in Brazil was worth $249 million in 2010 and is expected to achieve a market value of over $730 million by 2017. The increased demand for industrial clothing is directly linked to the forecast growth in Brazil’s industrial sectors.

Since legislation was passed in Brazil making it a legal requirement for employees to be provided with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including protective clothing, there has been an increase in new market entrants.

The growing Brazilian energy industry presents strong opportunities for the protective industrial clothing sector, particularly in terms of the burgeoning bio-energy sector. Furthermore, as overseas businesses begin to invest in Brazil’s emerging economy, demand for PPE will increase, allowing for market expansion. Further industrial expansion and construction for the 2016 Olympic Games will also present significant opportunities.
