Ethiopia aid specialist to join Nike Foundation

Nike has appointed Howard Taylor as managing director of the Nike Foundation.

The sports brand’s foundation invests in projects centred specifically on adolescent girls, viewing them as “the most powerful force for change and poverty alleviation in the developing world”.

Mr Taylor will join the organisation in January after 14 years at the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID). He has spent the last three years leading the DFID’s programme of work in Ethiopia, the largest the department runs anywhere in the world.
