German outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment brand Jack Wolfskin has announced plans to boost its presence in the Chinese market, extending for another five years a contract it already has in place with distribution partner, Tristate.

The partnership between Jack Wolfskin and Tristate began in 2008 and sales have doubled in each of the last four years. There are already 220 Jack Wolfskin stores in China and 45 other retail partners carry the company’s stock. A plan is in place to extend the number of points of sale to 600 by 2015.

At the time of the contract-extension, Tristate’s managing director for branded retail, Josh Perlman, commented: “The Chinese consumer loves the brand and the products. In just a short time, Jack Wolfskin has become one of the leading premium brands in China. We are excited to further develop this success story mutually.”
