China imported 14% less cotton in August

This represents an increase of 32% compared to July 2011, but a 14% decline on the amount of cotton China imported in August 2010.
Of the raw cotton that came into the country in August 2011, nearly 36,000 tonnes came from the US, almost 21,000 tonnes from India, 9,300 tonnes from Burkina Faso and 7,100 from Uzbekistan.
