GreenFiber develops recycled fibre with antimicrobial properties
Romania-based fibre producer, GreenFiber International, has added Green Care Silver to its portfolio of ‘green products’, which it describes as a recycled fibre with antimicrobial properties.
The new development is suitable for apparel including undergarments, outerwear, work, sport and outdoor clothing, as well as home textiles.
GreenFiber claims the benefits of the new fibre are: safe affect against a large number of bacteria; the high-tech functionality that effectively reduces the development of bacteria and odours; interrupts the food chain of house dust mites; outstanding resistance and high temperature stability.
The new fibre products are accepted by Oeko-Tex Standard 100, classes I – IV.
Lab determination of the antimicrobial activity has shown a very good effect upon bacteria culture, with a reduction effect of 99.9 %, according to GreenFiber.
GreenFiber International owns two production facilities in Buzau and Iasi, with three production lines for the polyester staple.
