EOCA appoints ambassador

01/11/2011
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) has named Scottish fell-runner and climber Es Tresidder as its first ambassador. Sponsored by EOCA member Mountain Equipment, Es Tresidder has set speed records in mountain running, claimed first ascents in Scotland, Greenland and Kyrgyzstan, and was the top-placed UK team member in the ski mountaineering world championships individual race in 2011.

In addition to this, he is currently doing a PhD in environmental architecture due to his concern about climate change and related environmental problems. As an ambassador for EOCA, he will act as an advocate for the association, and share his passion for conservation in the great outdoors.

Tanya Bascombe, joint general manager of EOCA said: “We are delighted to be working with Es. His combination of a thorough understanding of environmental issues and his passion for excelling in outdoor activities make him well placed to act as an ambassador for the association.”
