Since Middle East organisation Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) bought a controlling stake in French football club Paris St Germain in May, sales of replica shirts have gone up by 180%.

Club president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, mentioned the figure during an interview with French sports newspaper L’Équipe at the start of November. He said the comparison was with shirt sales over the same opening months of the season in 2010. Paris St German shirts are supplied by Nike.

In addition, Mr
Al-Khelaïfi said season ticket sales had increased from 4,500 last season to 16,000 this term. Paris St Germain is top of the top division in French football at the moment.
