P2i coats shoes for charity
Nano-coating technology provider P2i has coated 1,200 pairs of the brand new Magnum H4H running trainer: ‘V-Lite Intrepid HPi H4H’, to help raise £10,000 for the ‘Help for Heroes’ (H4H) charity.
Developed by Magnum, a military and uniform footwear brand, the trainer is designed as a lightweight, off-road/trail running shoe proven to ‘keep you going further, faster, for longer’. When protected by P2i’s ion-mask technology, the V-Lite Intrepid HPi will keep the foot comfortable and dry by repelling water from the outside while maintaining optimum control of temperature and breathability, according to P2i.
Dr. Stephen Coulson, CTO of P2i, comments: “Supporting the H4H charity gives a great sense of pride and achievement for P2i as we return to our military roots. In 2004, P2i spun out from the UK Ministry of Defence to commercialise technology originally developed to make soldiers’ protective clothing more effective against chemical attack.”
The ion-mask technology is applied at the nano-scale, meaning it is invisible to wearers and doesn’t affect the weight, look or feel of the shoe. Officially endorsed by the H4H charity, 10% from the sale price of each V-light Intrepid HPi H4H will go to Help for Heroes.
