Orders for Italian textile machinery fall

09/11/2011
A recent statement from the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) says that, following several quarters of sustained recovery compared to 2008 and 2009, the country's textile machinery industry has seen a slowdown in new orders.

A downturn, already apparent in the second quarter of 2011, became more evident during the July to September quarter. According to ACIMIT, the overall index of orders for the quarter showed a 45% fall compared to the same period last year.

Many manufacturers estimate that the fourth quarter will bring in a flow of orders.
