Investment bank Lazard has taken a stake in Melbourne-based performance sportswear brand 2XU, describing its investment as a “significant minority interest” in the company, which specialises in compression garments.

Founders Clyde Davenport, Aidan Clarke and Jamie Hunt said the investment from Lazard would help them achieve their goal of becoming global players. Mr Davenport told local media: “2XU is determined to be Australia’s first global sportswear power brand and with Lazard’s expertise and involvement we believe we will accelerate this ambition.”
