ASICS prepares to launch new lightweight running shoe
15/11/2011
Emphasising the new collection’s ability to maintain “adequate support” for the foot, ASICS talks about the shoes’ “responsible application of technologies”, to give a comfortable, lightweight shoe that it says minimises impact. Each shoe weighs less than 300 grammes.
The 33 collection represents a new interpretation of the company’s Impact Guidance System, a research-based, natural movement philosophy that the brand pioneered more than 10-years ago. The reason behind the name is that the shoes allow all 33 joints in the human foot to function in a natural and efficient way.
In the build-up to the launch, Simon Bartold, specialist sports podiatrist and ASICS research consultant, said: “The ASICS 33 is a unique product, designed to work with all 33 joints of the foot. It is a lightweight, deconstructed product which offers flexibility and comfort in a lightweight package. It is ideal for the runner wishing to add a new mix to their training schedule and specifically designed for an awesome road feel and ride in the tradition of our long held belief the shoe should work with the foot, not against it. The 33 collection is the new benchmark in natural running technology.”
