Piave Maitex invests in new print technology

Knitted stretch fabric manufacturer Piave Maitex has said a new investment in print technology will bring its capacity to produce fabrics with digitally printed designs to "well over one million metres per year".

A new machined, the QualiJet K16 from Italian technology provider La Meccanica di Urgnano, arrived at the Piave Maitex factory in Caronno Pertusella in northern Italy in November to work alongside existing print machinery. As well as the increase in capacity, the textile company said the new machine would allow it to print on wider fabrics, with a span of up to 200 centimetres.

On announcing the development, Piave Maitex said customers' need in terms of style effects, resolution, and the number and intensity of colours is increasing.
