Following the example of the Be Green energy- and water-saving bleaching concept announced in October 2010, newer examples include Baylase NCP, an enzyme for bio-scouring and desizing cotton and cotton blends. This product removes pectin with simultaneous desizing in order to prepare fabric environmentally for dyeing or bleaching. According to Tanatex, it is suitable for all common processes in the textile industry and shows an excellent cleaning effect generating hydrophilic properties. It shows significant reduction in wastewater loads and offers important potential water and energy savings.
Tanatex has committed itself to the Cradle to Cradle (C2C) philosophy by implementing EPIC3, an Extraordinary Programme for Innovative C2C Cellulosics Cycle. The purpose is to restore continuous cycles of biological as well as technical nutrients with long-term positive effects on profitability, the environment and human health.
In the finishing department, recent innovations have included Persoftal Meso, a special meso-emulsion of a modified silicone softener for the finishing of all types of textiles by padding. According to the company, this product gives articles a soft handle with good draping properties. It can be used on woven and knitted goods, with particularly good results with wool and woollen blends.
TanaFinish HPX on the other hand is a hydrodynamic finishing agent for fabrics, knit goods and nonwovens made out of synthetic fibres.
Other new products include Baygard FD 8N, a concentrated water- and oil-repellent agent, and Persoftal HNS, a hydrophilic softener for cotton.
