Most famous for outdoor boots, Dubarry will start using Gore-Tex and Windstopper products in its clothing in preview collections in spring 2012 ready for retail distribution for autumn-winter 2012–2013.
The Galway-based company is a long-term user of Gore-Tex technology in its footwear. Marketing director, Michael Walsh, said that the new agreement “squares the circle” for Dubarry. “We have a long-standing relationship through footwear,” he said, “with both our sailing and country lifestyle boots enjoying worldwide demand. We are very proud to be granted the global license to use Gore-Tex and Windstopper products in our garment collections. These fabrics will enable us to significantly enhance our product offering and open up many new exciting opportunities for the brand. Our customers are both discerning and demanding when it comes to their outerwear. Our close proximity to the rugged Atlantic coast of Ireland provides us with the ideal testing ground to ensure we match these expectations.”
