Compression firm donates apparel worth $5,400 to hospitals
Connecticut-based firm Aspaeris has donated $5,400 worth of apparel to three Kohl’s Cares for Kids Sports Injury Prevention hospital partners.
Aspaeris is a new brand that provides injury-prevention compression sportswear for female athletes. The company has given $5,400 worth of ‘Aspaeris Pivot Shorts’ (APS) to Levine Children’s Hospital of Charlotte, North Carolina; Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children of Orlando, Florida; and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, Texas. These three sports medicine programs were chosen for their focused ACL injury research and community outreach work.
“We are excited to place APS in the hands of these highly recognised programs that work with ACL injury prevention and rehabilitation. Knowing that one-in-ten college female athletes and one-in-a-hundred high school female athletes will suffer an ACL injury demands our attention. Athletic trainers finally have a tool to aid them in the fight,” said Chris Fuentes, CEO of Samara Innovations, which owns the Aspaeris brand.
Each hospital’s sports medicine department will be given 30 pairs of APS to use in their community outreach programs and for their department research. Aspaeris hopes that information on how its products affect recovery, reoccurrence and prevention of ACL injuries will help athletic trainers use APS in the most effective manner.
