New chief executive for DAK Americas

Fibre manufacturer DAK Americas has announced that Jorge Young will be its new president and chief executive officer, following the retirement of Héctor Camberos.
 
Mr Camberos, who has held the position of president since DAK’s creation as a subsidiary of Mexican industrial group Alfa in 2001, will return to his native Argentina and assume the leadership of DAK Americas’ Argentina PET business.

At the time of the announcement, Mr Camberos said: “I am pleased to hand over the leadership to Jorge Young to continue the growth of DAK Americas into its second decade and still be able to contribute and help further expand DAK and Alfa in South America.”

Mr Young has been with DAK Americas since it was established and has been serving as the executive vice president for PET resins since 2007.

Other changes to the executive team are that Jon McNaull, current vice-president of polyester staple fibres is transferring to the PET resins business as vice-president, while Tom Sherlock, current business director for PET resins is promoted to vice-president for specialty polymers.

At the same time, Mark Ruday, after serving as president of newly acquired Wellman, will transfer to DAK Americas as vice president, fibres.
