Two new tiers for Lycra Sport

Invista is to introduce two additional tiers of performance standards for its Lycra Sport fabric platform. The additions, Lycra Sport Energy and Lycra Sport Beauty, are focused on the compression and shaping categories within sports apparel.

The company will use its presence at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City (January 19-22) and at ispo 2012 in Munich (January 29–February 1) to launch the new tiers.

Lycra Sport is a fabric programme that Invista introduced two years ago in response to feedback from athletes and active people who expect freedom of movement, fit and shape-retention from their athletic apparel. The company’s Geneva-based global marketing direcetor for active and outerwear, David Capdevila, said on announcing the two additions to the programme that compression and shaping options would fill a gap in the market.
