Cordura backs OR Gear to Grow program

19/01/2012

During the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Winter Market (Salt Lake City, 19-22 January 2012), Invista’s Cordura brand booth will serve as the official collection site to non-profit program Gear to Grow. The program provides donated gear from outdoor retailers and manufacturers to other non-profits that promote outdoor recreation.

This is the second consecutive show that Gear to Grow will receive support from the Cordura brand team as the official collection site. The collection site will accept items for the program’s gear and apparel inventory. Prior to the show, exhibitors can participate by shipping donations to the Salt Palace Convention Centre, along with gear they plan to exhibit. Additionally, exhibitors are also encouraged to drop off surplus samples and equipment to the booth during show hours or on the last day of the tradeshow.

“The support and engagement from fellow exhibitors during this past summer’s Outdoor Retailer gear drive was overwhelming, and it is clear that our call to action was heard,” said Cindy McNaull, global Cordura brand and marketing director. “Our second time hosting the drive, we challenge Winter Outdoor Retailer exhibitors to provide even more support for the Gear to Grow program, and give the opportunity for more individuals to participate in outdoor recreation.”

Supporting Gear to Grow falls under an initiative of the corporate citizenship pillar of the Cordura ‘CaresSM’ program. The Gear to Grow program allows outdoor retailers and manufacturers to make tax-deductible gear donations to get more people involved in outdoor recreation.
