Climbing federation and Beal cement partnership

At the time of the announcement of the extension, Beal said its Diablo climbing rope will be available for use at the 2012 World Climbing Championships in Paris in September.
Beal says the Diablo is the first outdoor-use dynamic rope to receive the Unicore treatment, a patented, proprietary method of linking the core and sheath of ropes in a way that limits movement between the two parts so that they work better together. Before the Diablo, the company had applied Unicore to static ropes only.
This gives climbers using the Diablo the reassurance of a larger diameter rope (the options are 10.2 and 9.8 millimetres) with the running qualities of smaller diameter product.
