TMC creates white merino wool

Australian firm The Merino Company (TMC) has introduced ‘Enciel’ – a new merino technology that TMC claims surpasses the standards for whiteness and true colour reproduction.

 

TMC developed the SpectraWool process, a specialised treatment that has facilitated the creation of fabrics that have reached a whiteness value of 161.48 on the CIE Gantz scale.

 

The industry norm for white is 131 on the CIE Gantz scale, meaning that TMC’s white wool is whiter than optically white cotton.
