Chinese farmers could plant nearly 10% less cotton in 2012

An online news resource with links to the China Cotton Association has reported that may reduce the amount of cotton it plants in 2012 by almost 10% compared to 2011.

The report said the total area that Chinese farmers will devote to growing cotton this year will be 4.8 million hectares.

China is the world’s biggest grower and biggest consumer of cotton.
