Jack Wolfskin sales up by more than 20%
23/02/2012
All product areas (apparel, equipment, shoes) as well as all sales channels and regions contributed to the positive development, the company said on announcing the results. The shoe division grew by more than 35%, and growth in the European market (excluding Germany) was similarly high. In Asia, sales figures more than doubled.
"We have witnessed yet another outstanding year and are set to strengthen our position in all target markets as planned," said the company's chief operating officer, Christian Brandt, on making the announcement. "Even in the first quarter of the new financial year and despite the fact that the winter has been very mild, we have achieved a growth rate of virtually 10%, allowing us to remain confident that we will be able to further expand our market position in 2012."
The company added almost 100 employees in 2011 and now has a total of 630. There are currently 300 franchise Jack Wolfskin stores across Europe, and a similar number in China where, the brand says, it has climbed to number four in the outdoor market. Chief sales officer, Markus Bötsch, has said a crucial element of future strategy will be to promote the internationalisation of the brand.
