EOCA opens up public vote for conservation projects

24/02/2012
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) has opened up to public vote the list of outdoor conservation projects that have applied to it for funding this year. With a record numbers of applications this time (74 in all), the organisation is asking for outdoor enthusiasts across the continent to become involved and help decide which of the ideas should receive its backing.

Divided into three categories (nature, outdoor and alpine), the public will be able to vote for one project in each category during March, with the results being announced online during April and officially announced, along with projects chosen by EOCA members, at the OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen in July.

With 100% of funds raised through trade shows and membership fees going directly into conservation projects, EOCA hopes by the summer show to be able to announce the raising of its first EUR 1 million since its inception six years ago.
