DyStar signs up to UN Global Compact

Following its announcement at the start of February that it has joined the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), the collaborative venture established in 2011 by apparel retailers, suppliers and manufacturers to develop a mechanism to measure the sustainability of components and finished products in the apparel value chain, textile chemicals manufacturer DyStar has signed another agreement to stregthen its commitment to sustainability.

It has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), a policy framework for the development, implementation, and disclosure of environmental, social, and governance policies.

DyStar said in a statement it was pleased to take the pledge according to the ten principles of UNGC and adopt the framework as part of company strategy.

Signing a letter of commitment, Harry Dobrowolski, chief executive of the DyStar Group, said: “Our membership of the United Nations Global Compact signifies our commitment to adopt more positive and sustainable practices in our daily operations through innovation, commerce, technology and services that benefit economies and societies worldwide.”
