NZ: Ridgeline sponsors Project Kiwi
New Zealand outdoor clothing manufacturer, Ridgeline, has teamed up with kiwi conservation initiative, the Project Kiwi Trust, as a Platinum Sponsor. Ridgeline, which makes hunting apparel, aims to help Project Kiwi achieve its long term goal to “restore, and wherever possible, enhance the abundance, distribution and genetic diversity of all kiwi species”.
Linda Cameron, Ridgeline product manager, said: “As New Zealanders, conservation is something we all are interested in. Hunting plays a big part in this, helping protect our indigenous bush and wildlife. Close to all our hearts is our national icon and it is shocking to hear that, without management, the wild population of kiwi halves every decade. Project Kiwi has a big goal, building on their conservation skills and techniques in the Coromandel based initiative and then applying them to mentor and assist other projects around the country where requested.
“We are very proud that Ridgeline can be part of this important initiative, providing performance clothing and equipment for the project workers and a range of initiatives which will be announced in the following months.”
Fraser Lampen, chairman of the Project Kiwi Trust said: “Project Kiwi just could not do what we do without the generous support of sponsors like Ridgeline. We’re delighted to welcome them on board as a Platinum sponsor and are already seeing the benefits with our Project Managers keeping warm and dry despite the wet summer field work they’ve been subjected to of late!”
