France to celebrate Wool Week in October
28/02/2012
The French organisation wants to follow in the footsteps of an initiative, the Campaign for Wool, which took place in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and the UK in 2012.
In October, Paris will host Wool Week, with a series of events aimed at driving home to consumers the qualities of wool fibre to encourage them to choose wool clothing. A number of retailers will take part, as will a flock of sheep, which will make its mark on the streets of Paris to raise awareness of the campaign.
France has a sheep population of 6.9 million head and produces 12,000 tonnes of wool a year.
