Azerbaijan team to wear Scervino at 2012 Olympics
The Azerbaijan team will be wearing outfits designed by Italian fashion designer Ermanno Scervino at the 2012 London Olympics.
Toni Scervino, head of the design house, said the sportswear would have traditional Azerbaijani symbols. On a two-day visit to Baku, Mr Scervino presented prototype designs of the sports apparel that will be worn by Azerbaijani athletes during the Games.
He said that predominantly cotton materials would be used in stitching apparels, while man-made fibres providing stretch would also used. The colour green will dominate the sports outfits, he said.
The Italian designer has also created a line of evening dresses for the Olympics. Mr. Scervino said that his company was asked to ensure excellent quality when the order was placed by the Azerbaijani Youth and Sport Ministry.
Ermanno Scervino intends to use Italian materials and innovative ideas to produce the outfits, Mr Scervino said.
